Overview

Seeking a highly skilled project manager/scheduler to develop, integrate, and manage the schedule of a complex project.  Will provide planning and scheduling expertise to project to ensure on time start-up. This will include complete project lifecycle, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and control and closing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Finalize and maintain a MS Project using critical chain methodology.
  • Lead the development of a detailed Operations schedule (TT&T, IQ/OQ/PQ, Validation, & Start-up, Materials & Process Development, functional start-ups, site infrastructure start-up)
  • Integrate individual discipline schedules (Engineering (Primavera), GBS, Operations, Supply Network, Utilities, Packaging, Supplier Village)
  • Meet weekly with each discipline to ensure updated schedule status.
  • Outline clear weekly, 30-day, 60-day and 90-day critical actions, with a weekly updates.
  • Highlight schedule risks
  • Enable the use of critical chain tools such as buffer fever chart. 

Initiate

  • Ensure that the schedule structure is intuitive, with traceable/documented linking logic, developed to facilitate reviews
  • Tools: MS Project 2010 with ProChain software, Excel based reports / metrics / summaries

Plan                                                                                            

  • Ensure defined sufficient flexibility is built into schedule
  • Develop options and make recommendations to the PM to balance speed & scope, versus risk & cost.  
  • Develop well defined and properly sequenced tasks. 

Execute                                                                                                                      

  • Provide schedule input to the Base Plan updates
  • Define the schedule impact of all Change Management proposals
  • Obtain Level 4 BU, Site Infrastructure, & Functional Schedules
  • Provide Integrated Schedule inputs to 30/60/90 – Day Plan
  • Schedule Related Risk Identification and Options Assessment
  • Evaluate risks/options & make recommendations to PM
  • Understand the interactions between tasks, people & systems to optimize timing &/or reduce risk.
  • Ensure that the schedule logic (network) is accurate (via routine reviews with owners/providers of input to integrated schedule).
  • Ensure issues are proactively identified & communicated to the ISL.
  • Ensure that schedules are resource-leveled.

  Control

  • Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.     
  • Maintain a detailed schedule change management log.
  • Create & share regular schedule status reports.          
  • Identify schedule variations from the base plan or committed timing. Drive resolution of variances.         
  • Evaluate project schedule progress & performance.
  • Assist the project team in developing & maintaining status reports to keep management informed on project progress.
